I’m not going to bother trying to describe the brilliantly inventive (and infuriatingly addictive) sandbox/survival game that is Minecraft Alpha. Notch reckons the problems should be fixed today, so you don’t have much time left. Following a huge server overload (or something) that’s made a bunch of Minecraft Alpha stuff break, burn and explode (probably thanks to a huge influx of players brought on by Penny Arcade’s recent Minecraft-themed comic, in conjunction with the awesomeness of Rock, Paper, Shotgun’s recent gameplay diary thing), creator Markus “Notch” Persson has declared the game free to play until he can sort out the issues.
